Queen Latifah is more than just a rapper, singer, songwriter, actress, and producer, now she is a housing developer. The star is backing a major development for low-income residents in her hometown. She is investing in a $14 million development of market-rate and affordable units as co-president of the Blue Sugar Corporation, alongside Jersey-based Gonsosa Development.
The project will consist of 20 three-family townhomes with market-rate units and a three-story mixed-use building. That building will contain 1,900 square feet of commercial space for local nonprofits, as well as a fitness center and 16 units of affordable housing. Read more here.
