Modern social movements often fizzle after their moment in the national news, but Black Lives Matter has steadily gained momentum since its founding in 2013.
Through charitable efforts and socially conscious endeavors, #Black Lives Matter has helped start a national conversation about brutality in America. Black Lives Matter is a movement that has helped people communicate and bring forward critical social issues.
The Black Lives Matter Global Network continues to be apart of leadership centered movement that focuses on developing diverse leadership and praising the accomplishments of local activists. Black Lives Matter has helped to open up dialogues and create a platform for peace. Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi are three hard-working people; they have shown the power that social media has to create positive change.
