New Board Members Propel WeINSPIRE’s Mission Forward

Maryland – WeINSPIRE is thrilled to announce a bold step forward in its mission to transform communities through storytelling with the appointment of two trailblazing leaders, Don Dea and Dr. Carletta S. Hurt, to its Board of Directors. These dynamic professionals bring unparalleled expertise and a shared passion for empowering Black, Brown, and Indigenous Millennials through powerful narratives that inspire change and amplify impact.
Don Dea, Board Member
A seasoned entrepreneur and leader, Don Dea brings a wealth of experience spanning government, startups, and nonprofit sectors. As the founder of three companies and a member of nine boards, Don actively advises private equity firms and contributes to organizations championing cybersecurity, Black entrepreneurship, and veteran support. He co-founded the American Society of Association Executives' Asian American and Pacific Islander Advisory Group and chairs multiple impactful initiatives.
“My entire professional career has centered on inspired storytelling with a primary focus on making a difference in society by solving hard problems through execution,” said Don Dea.

Dr. Carletta S. Hurt, Board Member
Dr. Carletta S. Hurt is an award-winning educator, producer, and youth advocate with over two decades of experience in leadership and community empowerment. She is a high school counselor in Washington, DC, president of the DC Chapter of the National Black MBA Association, and founder of Coaching Connections, which empowers Black girls in leadership and entrepreneurship.
“As a storyteller committed to amplifying the voices of Black girls, I am honored to join the Board of Directors to support WeINSPIRE’s mission to connect, inspire, and transform the contributions of Black, Brown, and Indigenous Millennials through impactful stories,” said Dr. Hurt.
